Bahrain attends IPU session

A parliamentary delegation led by Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla attended the 138th session of the Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU) which opened today in Geneva, Switzerland, and will run until Wednesday.
Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Fakhro attended the coordination meeting and demanded support for Bahrain’s proposal which opposes any encroachment on the historical and legal status of Al-Quds – a step which was supported by friendly parliamentary groups attending the session.
Second Deputy Chairperson Jameela Salman and MP Jameela Al-Sammak addressed the session of the second group on sustainable development, economy and commerce.
Shura Council Member Sawsan Taqawi also spoke in the session, focusing on gender equal opportunities and women’s political participation.
