Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative and Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee at the Arab Parliament, Dalal Al-Zayed, has stressed that the tendentious campaigns targeting Saudi Arabia have not succeeded in affecting its status or role at the Arab and Islamic levels.
She stressed that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will stand with sisterly Saudi Arabia against attempts to target it.
Al-Zayed made the statements while taking part in the meeting of the Arab Parliament’s Legislative and Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee.
The committee discussed a resolution referred to it by the Arab Parliament’s Speaker on solidarity with Saudi Arabia, and rejection of the campaign staged against it regarding the case of the late Saudi citizen Jamal Khashoggi.
Al-Zayed affirmed that Saudi represents the security and strategic depth of the Arab and Islamic countries, noting that the attempts to distort its image through mass media reflects the importance of Saudi firm stances and role in dealing with vital issues.
This requires all Arab countries to support Saudi Arabia, which, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, has spared no effort in order to give assistance to Arab countries.
The panel also discussed another draft-resolution on the Arab Parliament’s solidarity with Arab countries that had suffered from terrorist acts, and the need to support them in their war against terror.
It also discussed a report on the situation of human rights in the Arab world 2018.
