His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today received a cable of thanks from the Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh.
Al-Saleh extended deepest thanks, appreciation and gratitude to HM the King for patronising the opening of the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and related meetings, hosted by the kingdom on March 11-15, with the participation of more than 1700 parliamentarians from about 143 countries.
He expressed pride in the noble values embedded in HM King's keynote speech at the opening ceremony, adding that the royal directives consolidated HM the King's approach to promote coexistence, tolerance, fraternity and love among various countries and peoples, as well as combating intolerance, violence, extremism and hatred discourse.
The Shura Chairman also extended congratulations to HM King Hamad on Bahrain's successful hosting of the 146th IPU Assembly, noting that the success adds a new milestone to the kingdom's legislative and democratic process, and confirms the international prestigious status it has reached.
He pledged to spare no effort in serving the kingdom and enhancing its development process, under HM the King's leadership.
