Bahrain will today join other Arab countries in marking the annual Arab Women's Day.

The Shura Council congratulated Bahraini and Arab women on the celebration, hailing their crucial contribution to their countries' development efforts.

The statement underlined women's status and achievements and active contribution to promote Bahrain's prestigious image at regional and international levels.

The council noted the commendable efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and president of the Supreme Council for Women, in supporting and empowering Bahraini women in all areas.
