Shura Council honours press, media personnel

 The Shura Council today honoured parliamentary press and media personnel in recognition of their efforts to cover its activities with high credibility, responsibility and professionalism.
Patronised by the Shura Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, the ceremony was attended by the First Chairman, Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, Second Deputy Chairperson, Jameela Ali Salman, and Acting Secretary-General, Karima Al-Abbasi.
Addressing the ceremony, Jamal Fakhro conveyed greetings from Shura Chairman to the honourees, as well as his praise of their keenness to cover the Council’s activities and highlight its legislative role.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council also expressed pride in the distinguished level of the press and media in the kingdom, commending their role in highlighting the landmark achievements attained by Bahrain across various fields, and consolidating the principles of the democratic and reform approach and the state of law and institutions, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Jamal Fakhro asserted that thanks to the reform approach, spearheaded by HM the King through the National Action Charter, the Constitution and laws, Bahrain has become a role model for security, stability and freedom of expression.
The ceremony featured a short film on the efforts made by the Information Affairs Ministry, the National Communication Centre, the Bahrain News Agency and local newspapers to cover the activities of the Shura Council.
The honourees expressed their pride in their honouring by the Shura Chairman, First Deputy Chairman and Second Deputy Chairperson, pledging to carry on their efforts with transparency and professionalism during the next legislative term.
