NAC's role in Bahrain's development stressed

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia Abdullah Zainal extended sincerest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, as well as the Bahraini people on the 19th anniversary of the National Action Charter (NAC). They stressed that the charter paved the way for a new phase in the kingdom’s history and civilisation thanks to a farsighted royal vision aimed at meeting the aspirations of the Bahraini people.
The Shura and Representatives Councils Chairpersons were speaking at a celebration held by the parliament today marking the 19th anniversary of NAC. It was attended by members of the Shura and Representatives Councils and their Secretariats General.
The Representatives Council Speaker stressed the achievements brought about by the National Action Charter, mainly in the field of women’s empowerment, stressing keenness of the legislative branch on achieving citizens’ aspirations in cooperation with the executive branch. She also called on all to take part in a discussion session that will be held by the Representatives Council on February 19 on a book highlighting the legislative march in Bahrain over the past 20 years.
The Shura Council Chairman reiterated loyalty to HM the King and the nation, stressing that voting for NAC by an overwhelming majority of 98.4%, the Bahraini people demonstrated a great patriotism and keen desire to go ahead on the path of reform and achievement. He pointed out that the charter has yielded many accomplishments over the past 19 years which are the result of people’s unity and allegiance to the leadership for more modernization, reform and development.
The Shura Council Chairman lauded growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing continuous sustainable development in various fields.
