Shura Council has affirmed the Kingdom’s continuous efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic, according to the democratic and humanitarian approach drawn by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, by providing treatment and care services to all citizens and residents alike, in a way that enhances its democratic process and establishes the values of justice and humanity among all.
The council published a statement on the occasion of the Democracy International Day, marked September 15, and this year’s slogan is "COVID-19: Spotlight on Democracy".
The statement expressed pride in democratic process that Bahrain is achieving, thanks to the leadership of His Majesty the King, along with the concerted efforts of the government headed by the Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the skill and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister in leading Team Bahrain to combat the pandemic, and enable citizens and residents to receive treatment and care in a just and comprehensive manner.
The council praised the governmental efforts that harnessed all its capabilities to promote democracy, spread awareness, and imply it into programs and plans in all fields, despite the impact the virus spread in the whole world.
It indicated that Bahrain is keen to continue its high achievement rates within the sustainable development aims, and the continuation of developing national legislation and making it consistent with the agreements and treaties that Bahrain has ratified and joined in the field of democracy and human rights.
