Meeting No (9), December 30, 2013 – Fourth Convening Period – Third Legislative Term
The Shura Council held its weekly meeting today under the chairmanship H.E. Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh.
The Council praised the speech of His Majesty at chairing the cabinet meeting yesterday, and this regard the Shura Council stressed on the tolerance and co-existence within the Bahraini community and the coherence of the national fabric for the growth and prosperity of the country.
The Council called on all religious scholars and clergies to spare no effort towards calling for the unity and solidarity of the society for the welfare of the Kingdom, peoples, citizens and residence, indicating the importance to call upon ceasing all violence and all calls for the dissemination of the community.
In this regard, the Shura Council vowed to spare no effort towards achieving the royal directives, through enactment of laws which protect social fabric, considering pluralism, democracy, freedom of religion, accepting others, and accepting different viewpoints, thoughts and cultures are all strategic choices and noble human values cannot be compromised.
After that the Council reviewed items listed on agenda, where it reviewed the report of the reply committee to His Majesty's speech, and approved the report provided to include all remarks of the hon. Members of the Council.
Later the Council discussed and approved the report of the legislative and legal affairs committee concerning the decree by law no.26 for 2013, amending some provisions of the judiciary law, issued via decree by law no.42 for 2002. The Council also Council discussed and approved the report of the legislative and legal affairs committee concerning the decree by law no.27 for 2013, amending some provisions of the law no.60 for 2006, regarding reorganization of legislation and legal opinion commission.
Finally the Council disapproved the report of the legislative and legal affairs committee concerning the bill proposal, amending some provisions of the civil and trade procedures law, issued via decree by law no.12 for 1971, submitted by hon. Member Rabab A.Nabi Al-Orayed
