The bureau of the Council held a meeting this morning, under the chairmanship of H.E. Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, in the presence of the First and the Second deputies of the Chairman, respectively, hon. Jamal Moh’d Fakhro and Hon. Dr. Bahiya Jawad Al-Jishi, heads of standing committees, Secretary-General, and the legal advisor of the Council.
The Bureau valued the development of legislative authority in the Kingdom, which yielded fruitful values on the law in force in the country and the amendments of other legislation to cope with the growth and advancements in various fields.
The Bureau reviewed the list of pending draft laws and bill proposals which are still under study at the Council’s committees, and the subjects ready to be included in the agenda of the next session, where the bureau stressed on the importance to finish these pending issues.
1. The Bureau approved the agenda of the next Shura session which included; The report of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee regarding a draft law for 2013, ratification of the Protocol concerning amending the convention between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Brunei related to the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on Income, associated with the royal decree no. (54) for 2013.
2. The report of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee regarding a draft law concerning ratification of an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of Canada related to the exchange of information about tax issues, associated with the royal decree no. (63) for 2013.
3. The report of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee concerning the decision of the Council of Representatives relating to the Shura Council decision on a draft law organization of bonuses for government representatives in the administration councils of organizations and institutions, companies and committees.
