The Bureau of the Council held a meeting this morning, under the chairmanship of HE Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, in the presence of the First and the Second deputies of the Chairman, respectively, hon. Jamal Moh’d Fakhro and Hon. Dr. Bahiya Jawad Al-Jishi, heads of standing committees, Secretary-General, and the legal advisor of the Council.
The Bureau reviewed the letter from the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, which was attached with the report of the Shura Council delegation concerning participation in the consultative meeting of the Association of Senates and Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab world (ASSECAA), held in Bujumbura - the Republic of Burundi, during the period from 29 to 30 November, 2013, and decided to include the report for the next session of the Shura Council meeting.
The Bureau reviewed the list of pending draft laws and bill proposals which are still under study at the Council’s committees, and the subjects ready to be included in the agenda of the next session, where the bureau stressed on the importance to finish these pending issues.
The Bureau approved the agenda of the next Shura session which included; the report of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee regarding a draft law to issue traffic law, associated with the Royal Decree no. (20) for 2008, and a draft law amending Traffic Law issued by decree by law no. (9) of 1979 (the addition of a new item (41 bis)), (prepared in light of the bill proposal submitted by the Council of Representatives), and a draft law on the prohibition of stopping trucks in neighborhoods and residential areas.
