Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, has commended the keynote speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa while receiving His Holiness Pope Francis, noting that the values embedded in the royal speech confirm the importance of unified visions, common goals and bilateral efforts aimed at deepening world peace and promoting dialogue, tolerance and human coexistence among all countries and peoples.
Al-Saleh expressed pride in HM the King’s steadfast approach and comprehensive aspirations to consolidate international partnerships and build relations and bonds among countries based on mutual respect and constructive dialogue, which leads to the progress and prosperity of countries and societies and preserves global stability and peace.
The Shura Chairman affirmed HM the King’s invitation of His Holiness the Pope of the Vatican to visit Bahrain and learn about the living evidence and solid models of coexistence, dialogue and tolerance among sects and religions in the Kingdom is the culmination of a rich march and a history full of human giving, and peaceful coexistence that has grown in Bahrain during the prosperous era of HM King Hamad.
Al-Saleh also expressed deep pride in HM the King’s speech during the closing ceremony of the “Bahrain Dialogue Forum: East and West for Human Coexistence", in which HM affirmed unwavering keenness and interest in backing the efforts of religious leaders to consolidate fraternity, love and coexistence among all peoples of the world.
He also praised the lofty values embedded in the speech of His Holiness Pope Francis when he was received by HM the King, noting that the papal speech highlighted Bahrain’s wide-ranging unique aspects of tolerance and coexistence, in addition to the significance of the Tree of Life, which symbolises the deep-rooted legacy of coexistence and dialogue in Bahrain.
Al-Saleh lauded HH the Pope’s support for human rights and full respect for religious and labour rights.
The Shura Chairman affirmed the outstanding success of the Bahrain Dialogue Forum, which coincided with the visit of His Holiness the Pope, praising the launch of the King Hamad Global Award for Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence, which, he said, will contribute to spreading tolerance and establishing the foundations of global dialogue.
Al-Saleh valued highly the keynote speech delivered by His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, during the closing ceremony of the Bahrain Dialogue Forum, citing his call for the need for strengthening scientific and cultural relations between the East and the West to strengthen integration and cooperation between them.
