The Shura Council’s Woman and Child Affairs Committee commended the remarkable role played by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), in protecting women’s rights and boosting their status as a main partner in national growth under the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
 
Marking the 18th anniversary of SCW, the committee praised the council as a honorable model of official institutions in terms of mapping out plans, carrying out programmes and achieving forecast goals. It also emphasized the council’s contribution to boosting the status of Bahraini women through the implementation of a national strategy which consolidated the kingdom’s international standing in women’s empowerment.
 
The committee sent a cable of congratulations to HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and SCW President, marking the 18th anniversary of SCW. It lauded HRH Princess Sabeeka’s major role in the advancement of Bahraini women at all levels.
 
On her part, the committee Head Dr. Fatima Abdul Jabbar Al Kooheji affirmed the role of SCW in bringing about many quality accomplishments for Bahraini women in all fields. She stressed the wise royal vision in founding the council has yielded dividends in bringing about many achievements and providing women with the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities.
