The Legislative and Legal Affairs' Committee in the Shura Council held a coordinative meeting today with some members of the Shura Council presided over by Committee Chairwoman Hon. Dalal Jassim Al-Zayyed, and discussed a proposed bill of law for constitutional amendments in the light of a previous coordinative meeting held by both Legal and Legislative Affairs' Committees from the two chambers (i.e. the Shura Council and the House of Representatives).
The meeting reflects the Committee's commitment on closely bringing together views and opinions of Shura Council Members regarding the proposed bill of constitutional amendments as soon as it is referred to the Shura Council from the House of Representatives, in such manner as to save time and efforts spent on studying these modifications and to ensure a speedy approval as soon as referred to the Shura Council.
The Committee asserted the importance of the constitutional amendments in terms of increased Legislative powers of Parliament to ensure the perfect performance of its role and and boosting democratization in the Kingdom.
