The Human Rights Committee at the Shura Council, led by Ahmed Mahdi Al-Haddad, has praised the distinguished humanitarian initiatives launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in support of brotherly and friendly countries in the educational, social and health fields, valuing highly the kingdom’s creative initiatives that prove the humanitarian approach spearheaded by HM the King.

In a statement marking the UN World Humanitarian Day, observed worldwide on August 19, under the theme “#TheHumanRace”, the committee lauded the advanced plans put forward by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to preserve the noble values that guarantee human rights, hailing the initiatives launched by the government to protect the health and safety of the citizens and residents during the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

The panel affirmed that Bahrain is a pioneer in the field of humanitarian work, citing the tireless efforts exerted by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) thanks to the directives of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and RHF’s Board of Trustees Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to deliver humanitarian assistance to the citizens and residents, which contributed to placing the kingdom among countries that have an outstanding humanitarian record and deliver constant services for the sake of humanity.

The Shura Committee indicated that the Bahraini people boasts a deep-rooted civilisation, and has always been known for its giving and dedication in preserving humanitarian values, which has contributed to cementing cohesion and solidarity in the Bahraini society, and promoting the values of peace, co-existence, love and fraternity among the citizens, which resulted in enhancing the Bahraini society’s progress and prosperity.
