The Shura Council’s Committee of Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security, headed by Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Ajman, praised the dedicated efforts of the UAE to reach an unprecedented historical agreement to halt annexation of the Palestinian lands. It extended congratulations to the UAE and its wise leadership on the historical agreement which will bring about a positive progress in the peace efforts in the region.
 
The committee lauded in a statement the UAE’s distinguished diplomatic work and keenness on promoting peace and stability in the Middle East to enable the countries in the region to continue implementing development programmes aimed at boosting people’s welfare. It pointed out that the next phase requires more efforts to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause and achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with its capital Eastern Jerusalem. It affirmed that the Palestinian cause will remain the first cause of the Arabs and Muslims.
