The Shura council held its weekly session today (Monday), under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh.
The Council confirmed that the anniversary of the voting on the National Action Charter is a milestone in the modern history of Bahrain, and a new era in the national procession, after the people of Bahrain chose to step forward and start a new epoch in the field of democratic development.
On the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the voting on the National Action Charter; The Shura Council extended its good wishes and congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the people of Bahrain.
The Shura Council vowed to work very hard and in a sincere way, in cooperation with the Government, institutions, and all true societal endeavors that seek to support and strengthen the process of construction, advancement and development in the Kingdom, and to translate the statements of values and principles included in the National Action Charter into continuous efforts that pleases the citizens.
Then, the Council discussed a number of draft laws concerning:
- Mediation to settle disputes,
- Amending an article in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women,
- Bahrain's joining the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism,
- Bahrain's joining the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Substances and its amendments,
- Labor law in the private sector
