Shura council members had continued to discuss the draft labour law in the private sector in their 17th session, which was held today (Monday 8th February 2010) under the chairmanship of H.E. Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh. At the beginning of the session, Shura council had honoured the Bahrain Defense Force on the occasion of their forty-second anniversary since its establishment.
The Shura council member Sayed Habib Maki Hashim had a number of observations about the housing plan for the next five years that was answered by the housing minister H.E. Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
Then the Shura member Samira Ebrahim Rajab had discussed with the Education Minister the response to her query about baby‘s care hours that is mentioned in the civil services law and how the ministry deals with it.
Furthermore, the members had approved three drafts about promoting bilateral economic relations between Bahrain’s Government and the Republic Of Austria, Republic Of Uzbekistan And Republic Of Bulgaria Governments.
The Shura members had agreed on modifying paragraph (1) from article (20) in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
They had also agreed on a draft to approve the accession of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Convention on Physical Protection of Nuclear Material, and the accession to the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism.
