SHURA Council foreign affairs, defence and national security committee head Dr Salah Ali has affirmed that democracy in Bahrain is safeguarded and constitutional institutions are going ahead with the democratic march.
He was speaking during a meeting with Amnesty International director Philippe Hinsmans at Bahrain Embassy in Brussels.
Dr Ali is heading a parliamentary delegation to the Belgian capital.
The delegation stressed the kingdom's keenness to respect and protect human rights which are guaranteed by the Constitution and the reform project spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad.
"Bahrain has emerged stronger than before, thanks to the people's unity against the plotters," the delegation said.
"All Bahrainis are one family and no-one will be able to drive wedges among them.
"The current phase requires to focus efforts on bolstering security and stability, then mend the rift caused by the crisis to maintain national unity which has ever characterised the peaceful Bahrainis," the delegation added.
