Shura Council's Chairman receives Mr. Narbonne

Manama: Feb. 21 -- (BNA) The Shura Council's Chairman H.E. Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh - who is also Chairman of the Follow-Up Committee concerned with implementation of recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) - received today in his office the European Commission's Chief Ambassador Hon.Luigi Narbonne.

The two sides explored the efforts exerted by the Follow-Up Committee concerned with implementation of BICI's recommendations, and commended the Kingdom of Bahrain's government and the relevant sides for their cooperation with the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry, and reiterated that everybody in the Kingdom of Bahrain looks forward to accomplishing all aspirations and surmounting any residues left by the unfortunate incidents in the Kingdom of Bahrain last year (2011).

His Excellency Al-Saleh lauded the level of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and countries of the European Union citing big growth in economic, commercial, socio-political cooperation, reiterating the Shura Council's support to the development of these relations, especially regarding legislative affairs, coordination of positions, efforts and consultation on issues of mutual concern.

The two sides also discussed latest regional and international developments and issues of mutual concern.
