The Legislative Authority has been hailed by His Majesty King Hamad for its vital role in promoting the Kingdom's democratic process.
His Majesty yesterday said the authority had cemented the foundation of Bahrain as a "state of institutions and laws" by advocating social issues and spearheading laws and legislations.
Describing the democratic march as an ongoing process, the King said the legislative authority was set for a new session which would bring about more citizen-oriented achievements, which will in turn reinforce the national economy.
The King was speaking after receiving the annual report of the National Assembly for second session of the third legislative term. The report was submitted by Parliament Chairman H.E. Khalifa Al Dhahrani and Shura Council Chairman H.E. Ali Saleh Al Saleh.
His Majesty credited Parliament and Shura Council for serving citizens and for reinforcing Bahrain's relations with other countries.
He also wished the authority all success in assuming its responsibilities, noting the efforts of the people of Bahrain in serving their country and their keen interest to reinforce cohesion and achieve the nation's progress.
