Shura delagtion: Bahrain tolerance, co-existence oasis

A Shura Council delegation participated in the event co-organised by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence and “This Is Bahrain” society here recently.

The delegation comprised Hala Ramzi Fayez and Samir Sadiq Al-Baharna, in addition to Assistant Secretary-General for Relations, Media and Research Affairs, Dr. Fawziya Youssef Al-Jeeb.

Hala Ramzi stressed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s approch has strengthened Bahrain’s status as an oasis for tolerance, peace and co-existence among all the components of the Bahraini society, noting that Bahrain’s hosting of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence is a positive step that will consoldiate its role in promoting the values of peace and tolerance worldwide.

The Shura member pointed out that Bahrain boasts legislation and laws that preserve the dignity and rights of the citizens and residents, guarantee their political, economic and social rights and ensure decent living for all, which, she said, reflects the leaders’ vision that is based on the values of social justice, peace, love and co-existence.

Through its participation in such events, the delegation aimed to project Bahrain’s pioneering experience to the world regarding its policies and laws that preserve the rights of all, support the existing tolerance and co-existence, achieve equal opportunities and enhance the role of women and youth in society, she said.

The delegation took part in many events and visits to houses of worship, held press and television interviews and distributed publications highlighting the work of the Legislative Branch in the kingdom, and the role played by the Shura Council in this regard.
