The Shura Council today condemned in the strongest terms the terror crime perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the humanitarian six ship convoy as it was on a noble mission to deliver humanitarian relief aid to besieged Gaza Strip.
The barbaric and heinous attack left several deadly casualties among the peace activists. "The Zionists deliberately stormed the vessels and targeted civilian peace activists in the international waters, in a flagrant breach of all humanitarian principles and international laws and covenants", it said.
"Nothing whatsoever justifies the use of force against civilian peace activists on a humanitarian mission", the Council said, holding Israel responsible for the fate of the four Bahrainis on Freedom Flotilla and their safe return.
The statement also urged all peace-loving nations and organisations to take a clear and unequivocal stance condemning the Israeli act of piracy and force the Hebrew state to comply with the international laws and covenants.
It also appealed to the international community to exert pressure on the Jewish state to lift the brutal siege on Gaza Strip, extending condolences to the families of the casualties who braved Israel and sacrificed their lives for the sake of Gazans' freedom.
The council also called on nations and international organisations to secure the release of civilian peace activists held in Israel and ensure their safe return to their countries.
