Shura Chairman condemns targeting Abha Airport in KSA

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh strongly condemned targeting Abha International Airport, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen. Many civilian passengers were injured in the attack.

In a cable sent to his Saudi counterpart Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Shaikh, Al Saleh affirmed that the terrorist act contravenes with all religions. He also stressed solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in renouncing and fighting all forms of terrorism as well as confronting attempts to undermine its security, stability and interests.

The Shura Council Chairman underscored the need for the international community to act decisively against all terrorist groups and organisations in order to maintain regional and international peace and security. He also wished the injured a speedy recovery, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect KSA, its leadership and people.

The Shura Council Chairman sent a similar cable to Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmalik Al-Shaikh.
