Manama, Sept. 7. (BNA) – Participants at the international Conference on "Development and People's Access: Deliver the Fruits of Development to the People," held recently in Nanning, China, from September 2 to 7, have called upon countries to solve their domestic disputes through peaceful means and dialogue, reiterating their rejection of any kind of foreign interference in internal affairs of other countries, in line with international conventions on the need to respect independent states’ sovereignty.
The stances were voiced during a roundtable debate organized on the sidelines of the Nanning conference, under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Shura Council’s Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Hon. Dr. Salah Ali. Discussions focused on the political and economic developments in Asia, internal conflicts and ways of promoting peace and stability across Asia.
Delegates also presented their countries’ experiences in this regard and the economic, political and social challenges they are facing.
They also suggested practical solutions on ways of achieving stability, sustainable development and progress for Asian peoples. Hon. Dr. Salah lauded the issues raised at the workshop, asserting the keen interest of kingdom’s wise leadership and people to enhance cooperation with all brotherly and friendly countries and extend bridges of communication with them for the sake of promoting peace and welfare across the region and worldwide.
