A forum highlight human rights strides under the reform project led by His Majesty the King will be held on Wednesday (March 6) at the Isa Cultural Centre (ICC). The Shura Council’s Human Rights Committee will hold the symposium themed "Achievements and Challenges", in the presence of a number of experts and specialists representing official entities and civil society institutions.
"The forum stems from the firm belief in the importance of cooperation and coordination with concerned authorities", said Shura Council’s Human Rights Committee chairman Ahmed Mahdi. He stressed the importance of fostering the culture of respecting human rights under the provisions of the constitution and the National Action Charter.
Al-Haddad commended Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh for his continued support. He said that the forum would focus on the topics – International human rights criteria, legislative role in passing human rights law, human rights and democracy and national mechanism for consolidating human rights.
