The Shura Council's Committee for Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security has called upon Al Wefaq bloc to withdraw its resignation from the Representatives Council in order to be able to serve those citizens who voted for its members during the last elections.

During its meeting today, the committee stressed that Al Wefaq's return to the Parliament will boost appeasement efforts in light of the endeavours being exerted to embark in a new phase of dialogue requiring all citizens to join ranks in order to bring together all parties and adhere to the deep-rooted principles of unity and peaceful cohabitation between the members of one-family Bahraini society.

The committee also pointed out that the current situation the kingdom is currently witnessing is expected to change the map and mechanisms of political work, which, it asserted, requires all parties to join hands in order to launch new reforms based on genuine national principles agreed upon by all the components of the Bahraini people.

At the same time, the committee welcomed the consultation meetings held currently between all parties, and described them as signals of hope for reaching a consensus on all issues so as to pave the way for calm and allow the national dialogue to kick start.

During the same meeting, the Committee Chairman and members congratulated brotherly Kuwait on the 50th National Day,  20th Anniversary of its Liberation and 5th Anniversary of Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah's Ascension to the Throne, wishing Kuwait and its people further progress and prosperity.
