SHURA Council's Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee's Chairman Dr. Salah Ali chaired the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, on the sidelines of the 124th session of the International Parliamentary Union General Assembly, which opened on Friday in Panama. It will run until Wednesday.

He briefed the assembly on the political crises gripping several countries in the world, particularly the Middle East and North Africa.

He stressed the need for all parties concerned to be peaceful and reject all forms of violence, bigotry and extremism.
