HIS Majesty King Hamad yesterday stressed his resolve to pursue the reform project.
"We will build on the achievements of the last 10 years and continue the march of reform for a better future, engaging in a positive dialogue and providing loyal Bahrainis with opportunities to assume their duties."
Receiving Shura Council's Chairman H.E. Ali Saleh Al Saleh and Parliament's Chairman H.E. Khalifa Al Dhahrani, he said the situation had returned to normal, crediting all parties for joining ranks to ensure Bahrain emerged stronger from the crisis.
H.E. Al Saleh and H.E. Al Dhahrani submitted the council and parliament's replies to the Royal address at the opening of the first session of the third legislative term.
His Majesty hailed the replies, praising legislative authority's contribution to bolstering the democratic march.
"We are all citizens, entitled to equal rights and duties," he said, highlighting the spirit of close-knit family.
He advocated multi-party consensus to ensure all that is good for Bahrain's development and prosperity.
"We abide by the principles of consensus and balance. We don't believe in the domination of anyone on others, as we respect all parties." He urged community leaders to pay heed to youngsters and channel their energies to serve the country and community.
In the replies, the council and parliament said all Bahrainis were rallying behind the leadership. They pledged to exert efforts and continue work to further anchor the democratic system.
The need to promote education, particularly universities, ensure graduates are linked with labour market requirements and address the housing issue was also stressed.
